Weeknotes for 2024-W37
Published
First week of this felt successful, so we’re gonna keep on keepin’ on.
Back in 6th grade I had a wonderful teacher, Mr. Bricker, who taught science and part of the class included keeping a “Science Journal” which IIRC we were supposed to fill out daily. I struggled with it initially because I would feel like I didn’t have anything to write about. But as the school year went on it became easier and I would just write down anything: learnings, questions, thoughts, ramblings. I probably still have it somewhere, I should try and find it. Anyways, doing this weeknotes thing kinda feels the same: I just gotta write something and that itself moves the needle sufficiently.
This week has been busy:
- Starting a trial period contract.
- Hosting a friend for ~24 hours to see Dead by April. Was an awesome time, the venue (7th St Entry) was sold out.
- Prepping my Insight for InsightFest in Kansas City. Long list of tasks including an aftermarket stereo, fresh (indexed) spark plugs from Honda, the first oil change under my ownership, and some window rain guards meant for a Civic but modified to fit the Insight.
- Picking up my sister from the airport Thursday night and leaving Friday AM to Kansas City. Got back late Sunday night (as I type this). I’d like to write a longer post on InsightFest.
What I have coming up:
- Seeing Mother Mother w/ Winnetka Bowling League opening live.
- Hosting another good friend for the weekend.
- Car & bike projects I’d like to wrap up.
- More work work, of course.
That’s all I got—just wanted to get this buttoned up before I head to bed.
I love hearing from readers so please feel free to reach out.
