Subscribe by Email via FeedMail

Published

I’ve added a dedicated /subscribe page after implementing email subscriptions. This is done using FeedMail which is a service (ran by Kevin) that emits RSS feed contents over email. It’s not quite a newsletter, since I have no direct mailing list. Rather, it’s really just another interface to the RSS feed. After all, email is good.

I opted to cover the costs for subscribers, but by default FeedMail has a generous free tier that should last the average user well over a year. I’ll be curious to watch as my prepaid credits slowly diminish.

Additionally, I added a link to the bottom of all posts which links back to the subscribe page. Admittedly, it makes much less sense including that in the RSS feed (because… you’re probably already subscribed) but hey maybe it’s the off-chance that the feed gets syndicated or shared elsewhere out-of-band.

So, with all that said, if email is more your thing go ahead and give it a shot and let me know: /subscribe#email.

I love hearing from readers so please feel free to reach out.
